Recognising that dogs and cats are carnivores, Eagle Pack created breakthrough formulas that positioned animal proteins as the first listed ingredients in our foods, not corn or soy. They invented a way to include more meat meal proteins in our foods so your pet gets more meat rather than grain. Eagle Pack formulas include over 60 nutrients in each formula. The more ingredients available to us the easier it is to select a natural combination of ingredients to get the perfect protein, fat, carborhydrate, vitamin and mineral and amino acid levels for a given formula. This allows us to create formulas that are nutritionally solid with 'ingredients born' functional food supplements, so there is little need to add extra synthetic supplements back to the formula. Chicken Meal - This ingredient is antibiotic free and has no added hormones. Anchovy, Sardine & Salmon Meals - These low ash meals are naturally high in Omega 3 fatty acids, so beneficial to coat and skin. Small fish like Sardine and Anchovy are virtually mercury free. Salmon Meal is far below FDA allowed amounts. When added to the many other ingredients in the formula, mercury is virtually undetectable. Our meals are preserved naturally. Pork Meal - This is not used in many other brands because it is expensive. It is very tasty, more digestable than beef, lamb or chicken and is hypoallergenic. Lamb Meal - Our meal comes from range fed sheep. It is considered a hypoallergenic ingredient.
Meat Meals are made from the meat part of the animal, not spare parts, and is what we use in Eagle Pack Super Premium formulas. We do not use by-products in our diets. Corn has only 8-12% protein and should not be used in a food as a protein source. Concentrated meat meals have up to 70 percent protein, which make them ideal for the protein component of a pet food. Corn should be used only for its carbohydrate value and not it's protein and should not be the first ingredint listed on the panel. When used correctly it is an excellent carbohydrate source.
Product Testing & Quality Control. Eagle Pack Pet Foods, Inc. does not do any testing on laboratory or caged animals nor do we have a kennel facility. Food-related palatability trials are done with breeders or as in-home-trials. All incoming ingredients are sampled and every batch of food is lab tested. All formulas meet AAFCO feed trial and/or Nutrient Profiles. Our plant is USDA and PHIS inspected. All ingredients are EU certified.
